About Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is a government University. It was established in the year 1958. BAMU is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The university has its range in Maharashtra especially in the Marathwada region of central Maharashtra. There are nine colleges which come under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. They are the Milind Mahavidyalaya, the Government college of education, the Manikchand Pahade low college, the Yogeshwari Science College, the Government college of Art & Science, the People’s college, the Marathwada college of Agriculture, the Government Medical College and the Arts & S.B.L. commerce college.

The university has a very wide range of courses available. The courses are from all the streams including art, commerce, science, law etc. With a view to give students education from all the streams, the Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has thirty three departments of studies including various subjects like Marathi Language & Literature, English, hindi, Foreign Language, Economics, Political science, Public administration, History & Ancient Indian Culture, Sociology, Commerce, management science, Zoology, chemistry, botany, mathematics, statistics, physics, dramatics, journalism, library and information science, pali and Buddhism, psychology, physical education, environmental science, education, computer science, geography, Sanskrit, tourism, Urdu, law, biochemistry and chemical technology.

Apart from normal graduation and post graduation studies, Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University also provides a huge scope in research field. Lots of students and researchers come here to pursue their research in various fields. BAMU University is well known for its support provided for research projects in terms of well experienced guides, fully equipped research facilities and helpful environment.
